You can even purchase gifts online from their registries should you know the parents last name and state they reside in.

Couples love retail outlets gift cards. Wal-Mart, Target and Babies R Us all offer gift cards in denominations of $ 5 and up.

These gift cards let the couple purchase what they need and can come in handy should they need diapers, wipes and formula. Some couples will pool together several gift cards and purchase larger items such as a crib or a stroller if they do not receive them as a baby shower gift.

Accessories

There are countless accessories that expecting parents will need. So don’t be afraid to buy something because someone else may have already bought it.

Most department stores will issue gift receipts should a duplicate purchase be made. It is easy for the couple to return the item unabated.

Some of the popular accessories that are purchased include a diaper genie, baby bottles, baby blankets, pacifiers, bottle warmers, breast pump kit, and diaper bags.

Diapers

A guaranteed item that any expecting parent is willing to receive during the baby shower is diapers. A parent can never receive enough diapers as a baby gift during the first year.

Although the child will grow quickly, a case of newborn or size 1 diaper will help the expecting couple for a week or two. You can also think of adding wipes and diaper rash ointment to the list as they will surely need it.
